World Zionist Congress. Mercaz (United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism in Israel)– Slate 17 –

In just a few short weeks, hundreds of leaders from across the diverse streams of Judaism and Jewish organizations will gather for the World Zionist Congress. Together, they will allocate over one billion dollars in funding for programs in Israel. The number of delegates each organization receives is determined by the votes cast in the coming weeks.

The Conservative movement relies on this funding to support vital programs in Israel—programs that not only shape Israeli society but also impact Jewish communities worldwide, including here in the United States.

We need your help. Voting is simple: visit the website, pay a $5 registration fee, and cast your vote for Slate 17. This is our opportunity as Diaspora Jews to have a meaningful voice in shaping Israel’s future.

MERCAZ represents your community at the Jewish Agency, making sure our Ramah camps and communities receive shlichim and shinshinim. $5 million for Masorti Olami - the global umbrella organization of Masorti/Conservative Judaism: funds which have played a critical role particularly in supporting Ukraine’s Jews. $5 million for the Masorti Movement and other Masorti institutions in Israel like the Schechter Institutes, Fuchsberg Center and TALI, which teaches tens of thousands of Israeli kids Judaism through a pluralistic lens. Hundreds of thousands to fund initiatives to better prepare the next generation of Jewish leaders and educators at Conservative seminaries and educational institutions.
