Sandi Cramer

Early Childhood Center Director

Sandi brings over 27 years of experience in early childhood education, having served as a teacher, lead teacher, and director. Before joining Midbar Kodesh Temple, she was the Director of Seton Academy (now Primrose School). Sandi and her husband, Marc, have been active members of the Southern Nevada Jewish community for over 50 years. She brings extensive knowledge in both state licensing regulations and the implementation of developmentally appropriate educational curricula. Sandi is dedicated to fostering a warm, engaging, and high-quality learning environment for children, families, and staff.

Debra Lazer

Religious School Director

Debra Lazer brings decades of experience in Jewish education, spanning early childhood through adult learning. She has held numerous leadership roles in Las Vegas, including ECE Preschool Director, Administrator, and Executive Director of synagogues in both Las Vegas and Denver, CO. Debra has also taught in religious schools in Vancouver, BC, and Las Vegas, where she has mentored Madrichim.​ Debra holds a teaching degree in Elementary and Special Education from David Yellin Teachers College in Beit Hakerem, Jerusalem, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management, both from UNLV.

Cheryl Orsini

Early Childhood Coordinator

Cheryl manages all student records for the ECC and oversees Licensing and Health District documentation and renewals. She has been a dedicated member of the Midbar Kodesh Temple team for over 9 years. Cheryl has lived in Henderson for nearly 30 years and has been married for 42 years. Her attention to detail and behind-the-scenes support help keep the ECC running smoothly.

Marci Altman

Project Manager & Events Director

Marci is a native of Las Vegas and has been a part of the Midbar Kodesh family since the beginning. Marci is married to Joel and has four boys. Each of them has gone through the ECC and has become a bar mitzvah. Marci has held multiple roles over the years, from Youth Director to Religious School Director, Religious School teacher, and administrative assistant in Midbar's front office. She has also taught Special Education students in high school for over twenty-plus years. Now, you will see Marci in the Midbar office as she helps to create and implement our programming; coordinates volunteers, and manages our social media presence.

Arlene Walters

Administrative Support

Arlene has worked at Midbar for over 7 years. She provides administrative support and assists with Religious School, High Holidays and other occasional events. Previously, Arlene was on the Centerstage Board at the Rochester JCC and the Board of Directors of Rochester Community Baseball for over 30 years. While originally from Rochester, NY, she has been in Las Vegas for 14 years and has 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
