Meet Director Wendy Roselinsky - Early Childhood Center at Midbar Kodesh Temple
Wendy Roselinsky returns as Director of the Early Childhood Center at Midbar Kodesh Temple with an enthusiastic and capable staff who looks forward to working with the children of the ECC at Midbar Kodesh. Working closely with her teachers, Ms. Wendy
has introduced the STEAM curriculum into the classroom where the children learn through inquiry, dialogue and critical thinking to problem solve and work through the creative process. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics to guide students. Midbar's students enjoy this multi educational approach where math and science are found in the artwork, and technology and biology become a math project. This year Music Together will be introduced as part of the curriculum. Judaica is also introduced through STEAM. Holidays, Shabbat and an appreciation of Israel and our rich Jewish heritage is woven into the daily program. There's plenty of time to explore and time to play as frivolity itself is sometimes the highlight of the day!
The ECC at Midbar Kodesh Temple also encourages participation in several programs hosted under their umbrella. Family Circle provides a chance for parents to meet in an informal setting to speak with Wendy, Rabbi Bradley Tecktiel and each other about the demands of raising and educating a family. In Club Kehillah Sunday activities, families meet together at different venues for day outings and play time. Club Kehillah also hosts Shabbat dinners and fun filled early services for the young families. And of course the very popular "Parents' Night Out" which is hosted several times per year, is a chance for parents to enjoy an evening with each other. The PTO is also an active part of MKT ECC family life.
Miss Wendy brings a strong Judaic and non-secular educational background to the ECC. Her formal education includes Judaic and early childhood studies. She is the former Principal at Jeffers and Lummis Elementary Schools and was an administrator for Clark County School District. She has taught at a local Jewish day school and was a CCSD classroom teacher for more than 2 decades. She has also been a synagogue Youth Director and has been a long time member of Midbar Kodesh Temple. Miss Wendy is married to Alan Roselinsky. Together they have 2 married adult children and 4 grandchildren.
