Midbar Kodesh Temple students go to camp!

Students at Midbar Kodesh Temple spread out all over the country during the summer, many traveling out of state to Jewish summer residence camps for a Jewish experience that lasts a life time. Rabbi Bradley Tecktiel and Cantor Daniel Gale encourage these trips that immerse their students in a vibrant Jewish community filled with Jewish music, Shabbat experiences, and living connections to Israel.

While away at camp students find a sense of independence and discover new skills and interests in aquatics, arts and crafts, basketball and soccer, dance, music, cooking, archery, drama, outdoor adventure and hiking, and much more! Campers return home connected to a community and friends that will last them a lifetime. Children with Jewish camp experiences are more likely to become adults who value their Jewish heritage, support Jewish causes, and take on leadership roles in their communities.

The overnight camp experience is costly and there are few ways to help families with those expenses. Jewish Nevada, other foundations and private donors often make funds available, but over the years, funding has diminished for these projects.

For more information on scholarships available for summer 2019 or to make donations to sponsor Midbar Kodesh Temple students who wish to attend Jewish camp, please contact Rabbi Bradley Tecktiel at 702.454.484 or Andrew Spivak at mktoutreach@gmail.com
