Grand Pals visit Midbar Kodesh Early Childhood Center
Grand Pals of the 3 and 4 year old students at Midbar Kodesh Early Childhood Center celebrate with the children all year and recently came to enjoy the year end program, complete with entertainment and lunch. The Grand Pal program at Midbar Kodesh Early Childhood Center finds the synagogue's littlest members interacting with the seniors at Sunrise Senior Living, which is a retirement community located on Horizon Ridge.
Several times a year the children play and create art projects with the seniors, who in turn enjoy the youthful enthusiasm of the children.
"Some of our children do not have the opportunity to interact with grandparents or great grandparents, and some of the seniors at senior living facility do not have family in Las Vegas," said Miss Val, a teacher at the Midbar Kodesh Early Childhood Center. "And even if they are connected to family," she said, "this gives them another opportunity and another perspective in enjoying each other's company."
Midbar Kodesh (Hebrew for The Holy Desert) Early Childhood Center is now taking enrollment for next fall for ages 18 months through Pre-K. Classes start August 14th.
