Mazel Tov Sydney & The Warnick Family

Sydney Eryn Warnick, daughter of Allison and Matthew Warnick, and sister to Bennett Warnick, will be called to the Torah at Midbar Kodesh Temple as a Bat Mitzvah. Sydney will be chanting the same Torah portion that her father did exactly 36 years ago!

Grandparents Nina and Les Boshes from Las Vegas, NV, Marsha Warnick from Morton Grove, IL and Dr. P.E. Warnick from Chicago, IL will join in celebrating Sydney. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Hong Kong will also join in celebration.

Sydney is an 8th grader and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Her favorite subjects are Media Arts, Production, and Theater. Her passion is Musical Theater.

Sydney’s Mitzvah Project plans were thwarted by the ongoing pandemic and she is seeking advice on making plans for a future project. But she is no stranger to Tikkun Olam. She will soon begin her 9th year with the Girl Scouts and has participated in several community service activities that help to build a better world. She has made Hanukkah cards for deployed military, had the opportunity to welcome home veterans on an honor flight, and delivered Girl Scout cookies to local first responders. When Sydney sold Girl Scout cookies, she made an effort to have a matching box sent to an active duty service member. It won't take Sydney long to find a post pandemic mitzvah project that suits her talents.

Sydney recently returned from Camp Ramah in Ojai, CA where, for a second year, she participated in what Ramah campers call "an experience of a lifetime." Sydney created lasting friendships, positive Jewish experiences and will be counted as one of the Jewish leaders of the next generation. Many Ramaniks have become Rabbis and synagogue and community leaders, so when Sydney says she sees herself in government, maybe even the President of the United States, she is serious about her goals. "Everyone deserves the chance to fly," says Sydney and Midbar Kodesh Temple looks forward to watching her reach her goals!
