The new hallway at the David L. Simon Center

The hallway of the David L. Simon Center for Education and Tikkun Olam now is now graced with a permanent photo exhibit of Holocaust Survivors living in Southern Nevada. The photo exhibit is a project of the The Sperling Kronberg Mack Holocaust Resource Center which recently relocated to Midbar Kodesh Temple. The Center was made possible in 1980 by an endowment from the Lloyd and Edythe Katz Family in memory of Edythe’s parents Gertrude and Hyman Sperling. Generous donations from Lillian and Henry Kronberg and Judy and Ron Mack enabled the addition of a media center and an enlargement of the collection.

The HRC will remain a hub for Holocaust Education activities and programs in Nevada and will continue to offer teacher training workshops for educators in the Clark County School District. The work of the Center is made possible through allocations from the Governor’s Advisory Council on Education Relating to the Holocaust by the State Legislature and by private donations. The Sperling Kronberg Mack Holocaust Resource Center provides print, non-print and electronic resources free to the public to support the Council's mission to develop programs for the education of children and adults in issues relating to the Holocaust, tolerance and diversity throughout the State of Nevada.

Midbar Kodesh Temple, the Conservative synagogue in Green Valley, is located at 1940 Paseo Verde Parkway. For more information on the Holocaust Resource Center go online at lvhresourcecenter.com, by email at sperlinghl@aol.com or by phone at 702-433-0005.
