Mazel Tov Emma Grisar!

Emma Rose Grisar, daughter of Midbar Kodesh Temple members Robyn and Marc Grisar, and sister to Kameron and Ethan, will be called to the Torah in December. She is the granddaughter of Elaine Horelick & Edwin Horelick of blessed memory, and Barbara & Terry Raben and Richard Grisar of blessed memory. Emma is a straight A student at a local performing arts middle school and is a member of the National Jr. Honor Society. She is a violist for the school's Chamber Orchestra. Emma, who loves music, has also been playing the piano for a number of years. She accompanied Midbar's Cantor Gale at a recent service.

A "lily pad" art project.

Emma was an active Kadimanik at Midbar Kodesh Temple and now participates in youth programming at MKT as a member of Junior USY. Her Mitzvah Project is to volunteer with the Busy Bee Art Studio where she will be helping kids with cancer to enjoy arts & crafts. Busy Bee Art Studio is a non-profit organization that provides "Art From the Heart" bedside outreach to children and adults in home bound or hospital settings. Children with disabilities and seniors in care centers also benefit from the Busy Bee Art Studio outreach programs. A recent project had volunteers painting "lilly pads" which are attached to IV poles. The wheeled pads enable smaller children hooked up to IVs the ability of motion. For more information on Busy Bee Art Studios and how you might help as a volunteer or in making a donation go to: https://www.busybeeartstudio.org/.

Emma has lived with asthma for many years and she would like to become an allergist so that she can help others in a similar situation. But for now she is readying for her Bat Mitzvah by attending Shabbat services with her family and enjoying her studies.
