Are there any fees in addition to tuition?

To ensure we can provide the best care for your little one with dedicated teachers and staff, there is a $250 Placement Fee and a $200 Materials Fee for enrolled children. These are both due with the first payment.

Is there a dress code at Midbar Kodesh?

There is no official dress code for our Early Childhood Center, but children are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes that best allow for daily activities.

Can my child attend if they are still in diapers?

Yes! Diapers are permitted in our Metukeem (18 months) and Dubonim (toddler) rooms. Parents are asked to help provide diapers and wipes throughout the year for their children.

What are your safety guidelines for changing diapers at school?

Diapers will be changed every two hours or as needed. Teachers will wash hands with warm water and soap before changing each diaper. Gloves must be worn. The changing table will be properly cleaned and disinfected after each use. Teachers will wash hands with warm water and soap after every diaper change. Soiled clothing will be stored in a plastic bag. Children will never be left unattended.

We are a fully Kosher school, which means no meat, chicken, or shellfish is allowed.

Do students get a snack break during the day?

Yes! Parents should pack two snacks a day for full-day students and one snack for half-day students to enjoy during breaks.

What is the best way to communicate with my child's teacher?

To keep you up to date on your child's classroom and our school, we utilize several forms of communication: Facebook - Your child's teacher/s will post pictures and updates on the private class Facebook page. You must request membership to view this page. Constant Contact - Our team will email all weekly information (forms, etc.) to you through Constant Contact.Please check your email regularly and make sure we have a current email address on file for you, so you don't miss any important updates.

Can I pay my tuition in installments?

Yes! You have the option to pay tuition in 10 equal installments. You must have a card on file at the bookkeeping department, and they will automatically deduct your tuition payment on the 20th of each month from July 20 to April 20.

f my child is absent on a regularly scheduled day, can they come in on another day?

Unfortunately, we do not offer make-up days. We have to plan for students and activities each day and are unable to allow for make-ups or unscheduled drop-offs.

How do you encourage toilet training at school?

When a child is in the process of toilet training, parents and staff work as a team to positively encourage toilet training by using the following guidelines:Students are encouraged to use the toilet through methods of positive reinforcement. Students are never forced to sit for prolonged periods of time. Students will never be punished for wetting or soiling their clothing. Students will not be left unattended on the toilet or in the bathroom. Teachers will assist students in washing their hands with warm soap and water after each use.

At what age do you expect children to be toilet trained at school?

deally, we would like children entering Pilonim (3 years old) to be potty-trained. If you need additional support for your child, our ECC teachers and staff can work with you and your child to encourage progress with toilet training.

At Midbar Kodesh ECC, we observe the following Jewish and national holidays.

Jewish Holidays: Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Passover/Spring Break, Shavuot, Martin Luther King Day, National Holidays: Labor Day, Nevada Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, Family Day, Winter Break, President's Day, and Memorial Day.

Do the students recite any prayers or pledges at school?

We teach our students to say a blessing/Bracha before each meal and special prayers on Shabbat. Students are also taught the Pledge of Allegiance and Hatikvah (Israeli National Anthem).
