A Personalized Approach To Your Child’s Early Education

At our Early Childhood Center (ECC), we provide a dynamic play-based curriculum infused with academic experiences designed to enrich the whole child. Our teachers educate with love and care, cultivating a child’s social responsibility to themselves and those around them, stemming from our unique Jewish curriculum which honors Jewish culture and values. We help children establish their identities by fostering their self-expression, and embrace their potential in an inspiring and meaningful environment. Our goal is to create passionate, lifelong learners from a child's youngest years.

Our Early Childhood Center Curriculum

Our teachers work hard to present the curriculum to our students in an engaging format that keeps them curious. Setting up a strong foundation and learning environment for our preschoolers is key to their success as they move into elementary school.

Our curriculum focuses on developmentally appropriate, foundational learning with both religious and secular elements.

Here's an overview of the various components involved in our preschool curriculum:

We also spend time developing our student's understanding of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics). Our school works hard to foster an environment that supports these studies and promotes the integration of all these specialties throughout the day.

Outdoor Learning

We believe in kids learning to appreciate the world around us by integrating nature into our daily activities. Our outdoor garden is one way we bring learning of the outdoors to our students. Students help staff tend the garden, which is under continual development, as they learn about the important role of nature in their lives.

Music enhances our educational goals for your children. Adding a weekly music curriculum helps them relax and have fun while learning about rhythm, instruments, and sounds. We use the Music Together program, which focuses on music and movement to develop their inner musician.

Religious Elements

Our preschool provides rich Jewish content for young children that introduces students to Judaica studies and customs, including following kosher diet rules, observing Shabbat, reciting Jewish blessings (Bracha), and Hatikva (Israeli National Anthem). Our teachers integrate Judaica into all areas of education.

The Metukeem class is often a child's first stop in the preschool journey, making it a milestone for both children and parents. Metukeem creates a safe and nurturing environment as a foundation for children to discover their world. Children are offered a space which grants them the freedom to play and explore while building independence and learning important life skills. Their rapidly developing skills form the basis of the curriculum, for example language development, gross motor and self-help skills. Exciting hands-on experiences fill the day where each moment serves as a valuable learning opportunity for the children. One of the best parts of the day is hearing observing children form connections with peers as they begin to grasp the concept of friendship.

Dubonim is a year of rapid growth where children come in as toddlers and leave as preschoolers. The Dubonim class promotes curiosity and adventure for young children to explore and discover their identities. In Dubonim, students practice social emotional learning by turn-taking and sharing. Smelling the roses and blowing out the candles teach children mindfulness and self-regulation skills. Teachers support children's growing vocabulary, guiding them to communicate with words rather than hands. Daily classroom routines provide valuable building blocks for developing new skills, and autonomy makes up the heart of the Dubonim classroom. Teachers use each opportunity to turn everyday experiences into teachable moments, empowering, children to thrive and grow.

The Pilonim classroom recognizes the tremendous learning strides made during the introductory preschool years and provides opportunities for children to apply their newly acquired skills. A variety of interactive experiences enable children to learn more about themselves and identify their own areas of strengths and interests. Personalities shine and friendships become increasingly more important as children navigate their way through more cooperative forms of play. The classroom community embraces each unique individual where each child's voice matters. Pilonim curriculum challenges children to think critically and problem solve.

The Kochavim class prepares children for the world that awaits them beyond preschool. Blending academic concepts with social emotional learning, children are extensively prepared for kindergarten by the end of the year. In Kochavim, children learn to communicate, cooperate and think critically while also mastering self-help skills. Much emphasis is placed on learning to try while making mistakes because that's how we all grow. The stimulating classroom environment challenges children to become problem solvers, allowing them to truly exercise higher level thinking skills promoting children's ability to make cross curricular connections. Children leave the Kochavim class feeling confident, capable and empowered.

Focusing on Kindergarten Readiness

At the heart of our daily teaching strategies and routines is to prepare your child for their Kindergarten school years. Our education environment for children focuses on all areas of a child's learning, so they are emotionally, academically, and socially prepared for the next step.

Our goal is to enhance your child's natural curiosity in the world and grow their confidence along with their learning.

We do this by working with your child on:

  • Following routines and instructions

  • Social awareness

  • Self-help skills

  • Beginning reading and writing skills

  • Learning to express needs

  • Self-hygiene (washing hands, using the bathroom)

  • Separating from parents

  • Listening to a story

  • Developing large and small motor skills

  • Fostering curiosity

“Our 2 children have attended MKT’s preschool, and I couldn’t have imagined a better place for them to be. The teachers are fabulous and more like an extension of our family. Between the education they provide to prepare them for Kindergarten to the Jewish education that allows them to recite Shabbat prayers and songs at home, we highly recommend this preschool program!”

“We could not imagine a better preschool and second home for our children. The teachers and entire staff are loving, warm, caring, friendly, and supportive. The education received is beyond what a parent could hope for and has helped our son stay ahead in every developmental milestone. As a pediatrician in the community, I couldn’t be more proud to send my son to MKTECC and cannot wait for our daughter to start in Metukeem in August.”
